Personal Log, February 1st 2003
Have decided that California champions are in dire need of assistance re: upcoming apocalypses, and have put out a notice accordingly. Unfortunately, am receiving a lot of negatives on the RSVP front.

* John Constantine is busy somewhere in the Sudan, plus swears extremely loudly whenever the word 'California' is mentioned. Believe he objects to sun. (Certainly could not be air quality. Ha. Ha.)

* Anita Blake considered on the DL due to extreme psychological strangeness. Has been shagging everything that howls in her home town. Yuck. (Post it note: Send someone to look into that)

* Am not even bothering to call three witches in San Francisco as they are perpetually more wrapped up in their silly lives than anything IMPORTANT. Hmph. Plus, v. miffed they did not come to my birthday fondue bash.

* Also left messages for the Professor Strange, Nick Knight, Sam Beckett, the X-Men, the A-Team, and Penn & Teller. Am not sure any of these are actually real, but what the hell, is worth shot. (Heard rumor that Teller can talk after all! V. funny trick, that.)

May have to resort to desparate measures if no reinforcements pan out.

Re: Your list

Anita Blake: Has been known to shoot the good guys if she finds one of the bad guys bedable. Might not want to get her too close to Angel/us

Three Witches: They think a certain evil DA is dead. You really don't want to be the cause of a meltdown, do you?

Nick Knight: Still recovering from a stake to the chest. Semi self-inflicted from what I heard. More psychological issues there.

The X-Men: Please, we could so kick their sorry asses. All we'd have to do is start taunting them about their inter-team issues, and then kick back and watch the self-destruction.

Penn and Teller: Cool! We could use some entertainment. Sunnyhell is *beyond* boring.

Three witches are having a baby. Well, one of them is. You don't want to cause strife during that, do you?

You really really really don't want to involve them.

Please?

You're fun and useful. I'd hate to have to burn your ass off with a Flaming Ball of Death.

I do not beg. I may ask nicely sometimes, but I do not beg.

Well, I do know a few guys with big swords that haven't got anything to do right now. But they're famous for losing their heads in crisis situations.

I could put a call into their Watchers, though, just to see what's up.

Oh, please do. And remind the *seriously* old one that he still owes me money from that poker game last year.

Those icons are very nice, but they have the side effect of reminding me of the deaths of two of my favorite assistants. :( I get the sniffles just looking at them.

I reccomend branchng out in your champion search. Try more foreign heroes and truck them over to America. Japan is positively dripping in magic users and martial artists, for instance. And giant robots. A good Gundam could step on the LA Beast like an annoying ant.

Japan is a delicate situation. There, the proportion of heroes of various sorts directly matches the number of crazed villains intent on destroying Tokyo. Again. I can't really import anyone from over there without causing a massive good vs. evil imbalance.

It's a good suggestion, though. I think I'll shop around and see who else is available.

I'd recommend Ranma Saotome--but as a last resort. He's not a superhero in the strictest sense anyway, and wherever he goes... madness seems to follow. In the form of a large group of nice but somewhat insane martial artists. But it is fun to watch.

If you called up Jack Bauer right now, he'd have things sorted out by this time tomorrow.

I'm giving poor Jack a much needed vacation. He keeps having the worst days, and really, there's only so much a non-evil deity can DO to a guy before it falls into the realm of the enemy.

And I have a soft spot for stubble.

Aww. Yay, he gets a break from all that non-magic evil he's fighting. Especially after last year- he really needs it.
Maybe you should call on the RoadRovers, seeing as how your powers seem to occasionally keep crossing dimensions. And Special Agent Sydney Bristow would make a good addition to Buffy's team, if she really is done w/destroying the Alliance.

These possibilities are all well and good, but you missed two people who could be just as helpful. They've personally saved the world at least once, without supernatural powers, and they both happen to live not that far from both potential apocalpyses...spatially, at least. Why not call up Doc and Marty for this? Plus, they don't have that pesky lifetime limit that your other potential time traveler has.

Personally, I'm hopin' for that Sydney Bristow chick...saw her after the Superbowl, and...

What?

What, you're tellin' me that Buffy can have SUPERPOWERS, and I can serve whiskey to demons and vampires, but the super-spy chick ain't real?

: (

That SUCKS.

Syd should be real. Becuase if she's real then that means Vaughn's real! Along with Sark! And Will!

Heee

PTB~ Have you considered asking Clark Kent? Or is he too busy solving muders Dallas-style and getting high of of red kryptonite? Surely Lex Luthor could stand to do something productive. I haven't seen him karma rating but I wouldn't be suprised if he's slipping a little.

I could have sworn that Scott Summers was the Slayer's distant cousin or something. He might want to take a stab at saving his relative's ex, or at least the western coast at some point. No more of this lame world leaders only when they happen to be located in NY or people in northern Canada.

*needs to show off my geek chic*

You are forgetting:

-The Planetary Society: Elijah Snow, Jakita Wagner, and the Drummer

-Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg (Granny *always* wins. she even fought off a Turning with nothing more than willpower)

-Jack Sawyer (or Jason De Loessian-Sawtelle, depending on what dimension the the Buffyverse is connected to)

-for that matter, Roland the gunslinger

-Sarah Kerrigan, post-chrysalis

-Tim Hunter, now that he's not a geek

-and finally, Death of the Endless, who could appear and simply say "stop dying, die for good, MAKE A DECISION, OR YOU'LL ALL BECOME MY NEW GOLDFISH!"

Eternally sorry about missing the fondue bash...please accept this small token of hand knitted booties. Perfect for keeping those omniscient footsies warm and toasty on a karmic expedition in Norway. Also, if I should happen to...kidnap my future nephew and give him to my deliciously lickable, but oh-so-evil husband Cole...could you over look it? Just this once? Pretty please?

Hey if you really need some good help, just give me a call. If you can't get hold of me right away, that would probably mean I am off world, but I will come help quickly. I have been meaning to get over to the Hellmouth for some time now, but other stuff keeps coming up.

Grey Wolf...

P.s. The sword is sharp, and the fires are stoked.

P.S.S Hey PTB, I am really sorry about that one world, but its bad guys started to get on my nerves.

If it won't muck of the time stream, may I suggest hiring either the Dorsai, Hammer's Slammers, or the Dendari? Sure they're mercs, but they'd get the job done, and *quickly*...:>
